AirQ Sensor

Measures and monitors air quality in homes, offices and businesses.

Headache?

Itchy throat?

Having trouble concentrating?

These symptoms could indicate that you need to improve your indoor air quality, taking into account that:
Most of us spend 90% of our time in enclosed spaces.
On average, the level of air pollution in these indoor spaces is five times higher than outdoors.
It is no easy task to identify the elements that determine indoor air quality because they are invisible.

Indoor Air Quality Variables

There are four variables that influence the quality of the air we breathe in an enclosed space and, therefore, our well-wellbeing1:

CO2 and air quality

CO2

Outdoors, CO2 concentration can range from 300-400 ppm (parts per million) and can reach values of up to 550 ppm in urban areas. The recommended concentration for enclosed spaces is 800 ppm. In a 30 m2 room with 10 people, this value is reached in 15 minutes2. A high concentration of CO2 cause concentration problems, decreased cognitive ability, headaches and dizziness.

PM10

PM10 particles include dust, ash, soot, metals, cement and pollen. They are present in the air and range in size from 2.5 to 10 µm. Although they cannot pass through the lung alveoli, they can have harmful effects on the respiratory system by settling on the airway mucosa. Therefore, their concentration should not exceed 50 μm/m3 for 24 hours more than 35 times a year.

PM2.5

Due to their minute size, particles under 2.5 μm can lodge deep in the airways. PM1 particles can penetrate the circulatory system and even the brain. Short-term effects of exposure to high particle levels include throat and airway irritation, coughing and shortness of breath. Potential long-term complications include more serious conditions such as heart and lung diseases, among others.

VOC

The most common sources of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in our homes or at work are cleaning products, air fresheners, perfumes, paints, solvents and tobacco. These compounds can cause a variety of health effects, depending on how long you have been exposed to them. The most common are mucosal irritation, headaches and nausea.

How is the Indoor Air Quality Index calculated?

The Indoor Air Quality Index used by AirQ Sensor is a customizable indicator displayed through a color scale.

AirQ Sensor poor air quality indicator AirQ Sensor medium air quality indicator AirQ Sensor good air quality indicator

How AirQ Sensor improves air quality

When the Indoor Air Quality Index falls below the established value, AirQ Sensor can activate different elements in order to improve air quality.

AirQ Sensor: air purification and connectivity

Solution for the neutralization of PM10 and Pm2.5 particles

AirQ Sensor works in conjunction with the AirQ Box purifier, allowing you to configure, monitor and manage air purification from the Airzone Cloud app.

AirQ Sensor: ventilation, air purification and connectivity

Solution for the reduction of CO2 and TVOC concentration and the neutralization of PM10 and PM2.5 particles

AirQ Sensor activates any ventilation element present in the system:

  • Controlled mechanical ventilation
  • Heat recovery
  • Airzone damper

AirQ Sensor works in conjunction with the AirQ Box purifier, allowing you to configure, monitor and manage air purification from the Airzone Cloud app.

Control air quality from your cell phone with Airzone Cloud

Control air quality from your cell phone with Airzone Cloud

The free app incorporates advanced functions to your HVAC system:

Monitors indoor air quality and measures the humidity level in the sensor zone.

Configures and manages the operation of all elements present in the system.

Monitors air quality thanks to the air quality graphs available for each zone.

Displays the temperature, humidity and air quality.
